Charles W. Herbster endorses Scott Petersen for Nebraska Secretary of State.

OMAHA, Neb. — Scott Petersen, Republican nominee for Nebraska Secretary of State, today announced the endorsement from Nebraska agri-business leader Charles W. Herbster. Herbster, a 5th-generation Nebraska farmer and rancher, currently serves as National Chairman of the Rural Americans for Donald J. Trump Coalition and has previously served as National Chairman for President Trump's Agriculture and Rural Advisory, and Farmers and Ranchers Coalitions.

Herbster’s family farming roots in Nebraska date to 1847. A lifelong agriculturalist and entrepreneur, he said the stewardship lessons learned through farming are reflected in Petersen’s approach to public service.

“Agriculture teaches you that stewardship matters,” Herbster said. “You protect what has been entrusted to you and make decisions with the next generation in mind. Scott Petersen understands that defending Nebraska means protecting the integrity of our elections, supporting the businesses and entrepreneurs who keep our communities strong, and making sure government remains accountable to the people it serves.”

Herbster said Petersen brings the leadership and values he believes Nebraska needs in its next Secretary of State.

“Scott respects our traditions, understands the importance of free enterprise and is willing to stand firm for the institutions that make our state strong,” Herbster said. “He has my full endorsement and total support.”

Petersen thanked Herbster for the endorsement and praised his decades of leadership in agriculture, business and rural America.

“Charles understands stewardship in a very real way,” Petersen said. “His family has worked Nebraska land for generations, he has built businesses and created opportunities, and he has represented the interests of farmers and rural communities on the national stage. I am honored to have his confidence and support.”

Petersen said the same principles of stewardship apply directly to the responsibilities of the Secretary of State.

Petersen is running for Secretary of State on a platform focused on restoring confidence in Nebraska elections, strengthening election safeguards, modernizing business services, promoting civic education and ensuring the office serves Nebraskans with transparency, accountability and professionalism.
