OMAHA, Neb. — Scott Petersen, Republican nominee for Nebraska Secretary of State, today announced the endorsements of William Feely, Nebraska’s Republican National Committeeman, and Fanchon Blythe, Nebraska’s Republican National Committeewoman.

Both Feely and Blythe have known Petersen for many years and said their endorsements are rooted not only in his experience and approach to the office, but in the character and consistency they have seen from him over time.

Feely, who serves on the Republican National Committee’s Temporary Committee on Election Integrity, said Petersen brings the judgment and seriousness necessary for an office charged with safeguarding public confidence in elections.

“I have known Scott Petersen for many years, and I have had the opportunity to see his character, judgment and commitment to public service firsthand,” Feely said. “I am proud to endorse him for Nebraska Secretary of State.”

“My work on the RNC’s Temporary Committee on Election Integrity has reinforced something I believe deeply: confidence in our elections depends on more than laws and procedures. It depends on capable people who understand the responsibility entrusted to them, who are willing to examine how systems work and who recognize that public confidence must continually be earned.”

Feely said Petersen has consistently demonstrated that mindset.

“Scott has taken the time to learn, to listen and to understand the details of election administration,” Feely said. “He believes in strong safeguards, transparent processes, accurate records and election systems that give citizens confidence in both the process and the outcome.”

“The Secretary of State holds an important position of public trust. I know Scott understands that trust must be protected every day, in every election and in every responsibility of the office. Nebraska will be well served by his leadership.”

Blythe, who serves on the RNC’s Grassroots and Faith Engagement committees, said her endorsement reflects Petersen’s long record of building relationships and staying connected to the people he hopes to serve.

“I have known Scott for a long time, not simply as a candidate or someone involved in politics, but as a friend, a community leader and someone who genuinely cares about Nebraska and its people,” Blythe said.

“Through my work in grassroots and faith engagement, I am constantly reminded that strong communities are built through relationships. You have to listen to people, meet them where they are, respect the values that guide their lives and never forget that public service is ultimately about serving others.”

Blythe said those are qualities she has seen in Petersen for years.

“Scott understands that leadership begins with listening,” Blythe said. “He values the people who volunteer in their communities, serve their churches, run small businesses, raise families and quietly do the work that keeps Nebraska strong.”

“For me, this endorsement is personal. I know Scott Petersen, I know his heart for Nebraska, and I trust him to serve our state with integrity, humility and purpose. I am proud to stand with him for Secretary of State.”

Petersen thanked Feely and Blythe for their service to Nebraska and their leadership on the national level.

“William and Fanchon represent Nebraska exceptionally well, and I am grateful for their friendship, their confidence and the leadership they provide on the national stage,” Petersen said.

“William brings a steady and thoughtful hand to everything he does. He listens carefully, studies the issues and approaches difficult questions with seriousness and sound judgment. His work on election integrity at the national level makes his support especially meaningful to me.”

“Fanchon brings an entirely different but equally valuable strength. She has tremendous zest and energy, and she has an ability to connect with people that is impossible to miss. Her work in grassroots and faith engagement reflects exactly who she is — someone who believes deeply in relationships, participation and bringing people into the process.”

Petersen said Feely and Blythe complement one another particularly well in their national roles.

“Together, William and Fanchon are a great team for Nebraska,” Petersen said.

“One brings a steady, thoughtful approach to the issues; the other brings extraordinary energy and a gift for engaging people. Both care deeply about this state, both serve Nebraska well nationally, and I am honored to have both of them standing with me.”

Petersen has made restoring confidence a central theme of his campaign for Secretary of State, emphasizing secure and transparent elections, accurate voter rolls, citizenship verification, voter ID, voter-verifiable paper ballots, strong chain-of-custody protections, modernized business services and greater civic engagement.
